During the week of November 8-12,
2004, DRS-BT had the pleasure to host DRM meetings and international symposium.
It was held at the Wyndham Dallas North hotel. Approximately 50 DRM members
attended the meetings and approximately 90 individuals attended the symposium.
The meetings included Broadcasters Meeting, Technical Committee, Commercial
Committee, Planning Committee and Steering Board meeting.
The symposium speakers included DRM Chairman Peter Senger (Deutsche Welle); DRM Vice Chairman Jan Hoek (Radio Netherlands); DRM Technical Committee Chairman Donald Messer (IBB/VOA); DRM Commercial Committee Chairman Michel Penneroux (TDF); Adil Mina and Daniel Dickey (DRS-BT); Jeff White (Chairman, DRM U.S.A Group); Mike Adams (NASB); Charles Jacobson (HCJB World Radio, Ecuador); Paul Linnarz (KAS Peru); Stefan Meltzer (Coding Technologies); Michael Schlicht (Fraunhofer IIS); and John Sykes (BBC).
The symposium also featured live, DRM shortwave broadcasts demonstrated on a variety of DRM-capable receivers originating from Canada, U.K., France, Chile, Ecuador and U.S. DRS-BT broadcasted from our 418-DRM transmitter to the symposium and to quote Mark Krieger of Radio Magazine most notable of which was provided by host DRS Technologies. Emanating from the company's plant across town, the 750W signal on 25.9MHz was made possible through a Special Temporary Authorization issued by the FCC, and the efforts of DRS engineers working with one of the company's DRM capable transmitters.
The meetings and symposium were
particularly successful and this put DRS-BT in a favorable position for future
DRM business. Many of the DRS-BT employees were directly involved with
organizing this event.

Attendance at the symposium
In addition to the DRM meetings/symposium during that week, the USA DRM group along with some DRM members and supporters visited DRS-BT on Thursday of that week. They enjoyed a factory tour given by Dan Dickey providing a commentary on the 418-DRM transmitter. The USA DRM group held a meeting in our main conference room and later enjoyed a bar-b-que dinner.
